Check Building Permit Status Without a Contractor’s License

Note that when dropping off a permit application, an Application Number is assigned. Once the application is checked and entered into the permitting system a Record Number is assigned.

  1. Begin on the Pinellas County Access Portal homepage, scroll down to the Building section, and select SearchPermits.
  2. In the General Search area, begin by typing in only the Street Number (from) and Street Name.
  3. Select the Search button. You will be directed to permits for the property. Note: If there is more than one permit there will be a listing at the bottom of the page.
  4. Select the desired permit from the list.
  5. The permit displays.
  6. Below the Record Number, go to the Record Info drop down and select Processing Status.
  7. Status Information will display.
  8. Select the drop-down arrows adjacent to each department to check their review status.
  9. The Processing Status will appear adjacent to the reviewing group.
